TCVN 13373:2021 Energy Efficiency standard for infrared hobs has been released and supposed to be enforced from 01 Jan 2025. Fortunately, organizations can apply for voluntary testing and energy efficiency label declaration of conformity before mandated date.
An infrared cooker (infrared hob) is an electric cooker that functions on the principle of infrared heat radiation. In infrared hobs, the electric current heats the resistor coil inside to produce heat, and then heat passes to the cooking surface, heating pot or pan, and the food on it. Unlike with induction cookers, you can use many types of cooking vessels like ceramic, ferromagnetic, aluminum, etc.. with infrared hobs. These cookers can even be used to bake food. Infrared cookers are fast and more energy-efficient than traditional cookers but less energy-efficient than induction hobs.
According to the TCVN 13373:2021, all kind of infrared hobs, including the product with other cooking area like induction cooking area shall still be fallen under its scope
