Pursuant to Decree 132/2008/ND-CP dated 31/12/2008 (amended and supplemented by Decree 74/2018/ND-CP dated 15/05/2018 and Decree 154/2018/ND-CP dated 09/11/2018) of the Vietnam Government and Vietnam which enter in effect since 01 - July - 2018, product quality inspection registration (PQIR) for imported goods is a mandatory process for customs clearance. All wireless and ITE products required to obtain an "imported product quality registration form" verified by an authority designated by MIC Vietnam in order to be released. However, until now, no regulations regarding authority designation has been issued yet by MIC Vietnam. This issue made all the imported wireless and ITE products are temporarily stuck at ports, importers are not able to finish custom clearance process even though all necessary certificate (Type Approval and / or SDoC has been obtained. Customs Authority has sent an official letter to MIC Vietnam asking for guidance and confirmation. This disordered situation should be resolved soon once the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communication release official guidance to designate state management authority for PQIR process and guide the importers.
