EXTENDMAX – At the 4G LTE 2018 International Conference, held in Hanoi on 6-April-2018, allocation for 700 MHz band for 4G LTE was announced together with information on the 5G development progress.
According to Mr. Doan Quang Hoan, head of the Authority of Radio Frequency Management (ARFM) of MIC Vietnam, as early as 2013, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) Vietnam has planned to re-allocate groups of frequency channels and left the entire spectrum which International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has allocated for mobile broadband communications.
The head of ARFM has also shared that 5G needs very long time to be implemented in Vietnam, Vietnam's immediate task is allocating 700 MHz band for mobile. The 700 MHz band has a very important meaning. This is the lowest band to provide global mobile service. In the past there was a 450 MHz band for power telecommunication, some countries also used the 600 MHz band but very limited. Therefore, the 700 MHz band is the most common low frequency band in the world. This is also the most suitable band for mobile broadband.
