In order to improve Public Services which is mostly provided by government authorities and state-owned companies at this moment Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has held a seminar on “Role of private companies on Public Service” to take opinions from authorities and enterprises regarding conformity assessment and certification services. During the seminar Mr. Dau Anh Tuan – Chief of Legal Department of VCCI and representatives of Government Office, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Sciences and Technologies, importers have discussed on how to improve public services and may the public services can be provided by the private enterprises.
How to provide public services to all citizens and businesses with quality and reasonable costs is always a challenge for all national governments. With that comes a lot of different perspectives, approaches and models for addressing this challenge. Previously, public services were mainly provided by the State through state management agencies, non-business units or state-owned enterprises under state management agencies. Recently, domestic or foreign-invested private sectors have begun to be allowed to participate in the provision of public services, and more and more non-state enterprises are performing these tasks. The Party and State have issued the policy of "developing the public non-business service market and strongly attracting economic sectors to participate in the development of public non-business services".
During the preparation stage of the seminar, VCCI's legal officers has interviewed the CEO of ExtendMax - Mr. Tran Thanh Phuong (Alex) about aspects in the field of conformity assessment that ExtendMax is participating in. This time, ExtendMax CEO was invited to attend the seminar as an independent expert in the field of conformity assessment (testing, certification of conformity, standardization, inspection...).
