MIC Vietnam upcoming regulation update highlights in middle of 2019 and near future


EXTENDMAX – Pursuant to new national technical standards which has been officially released by MIC Vietnam and according to practice in testing, certification, importation, please find MIC Vietnam upcoming regulation update highlights in late of 2019 and near future as below

Fixed MIC regulation update entering in effect since 01 July 2019

(1) QCVN 117:2018/BTTTT (equivalent to ETSI EN 301 908-13) enter in effect to be RF requirement for 4G FDD LTE, replace QCVN 47:2015/BTTTT (applicable for 4G FDD LTE terminal devices / cell phone / tablet only)

(2) QCVN 118:2018/BTTTT (equivalent to CISPR 32:2015) enter in effect to be EMC requirement for ITE and MME, replace TCVN 7189:2009 (CISPR 22:2006) and TCVN 7600:2010 (CISPR 13:2009)

(3) QCVN 66:2018/BTTTT replace QCVN 66:2013/BTTTT as requirement for 3G W-CDMA FDD Repeater

(4) QCVN 16:2018/BTTTT replace QCVN 16:2010/BTTTT as requirement for 3G W-CDMA FDD Base Station

(5) Few more new national standards issued by MIC Vietnam enter in effect

(6) MIC may release a new Circular to replace Circular 04/2018/TT-BTTTT with shorter list of devices under regulatory Type Approval certification and Declaration of Conformity

Future MIC regulation updates for Lithium Ion battery entering in effect within next 2 years

(7) New version of QCVN 101:2016/BTTTT with below updates:

- Fix a typing mistake (in limitation of a test item) and few other translation mistakes in QCVN 101:2016/BTTTT

- Test item " – Transportation" could be replaced by requirement on shock test and vibration test (local test reports or test report issued by MRA laboratories will be required)

- Test item " – Force internal short circuit" could be terminated

With these updates, the new QCVN 101:20xx will not totally equivalent to IEC 62133 and IEC 61960.
